Piaget created a bespoke service on watch design during the 70s and 80s. They allowed customers to choose materials and stones for the case/ bracelet/ dial.

This lead to some unique pieces and unusual designs still being uncovered today.

This watch is outstanding craftsmanship, with the use of Black opal in a mosaic form on the dial. Each piece of vibrant opal fits together to create an incredible stain glass pattern. Not only would this have been expensive but using opal in this form would have been near an impossible task!

The movement is quartz which is unlike Piaget however during the quartz crisis we saw every major brand releasing a quartz line of movements during the 70’s; additionally servicing the movement with such a fragile dial was probably advised.

Finally the integrated case and bracelet is crafted from 18ct white and gold… Weighing over 150grams in total. Each link is removable and the intricate brick design is totally unique with the case having a beautiful stepped design.

Piaget boutique in London informed DVW this was a custom made watch sent to the Middle East in 1979.

We had extra links cast to make the bracelet comfortable fit up to a 20cm wrist and fit a man or woman.
